Swap!
Join us for our first annual Swap!

We are three women who love clothes (okay, maybe a little too much!), and thought it was high time to get some other like-minded women together to share in the abundance of our collective closets! We are excited to bring you all together, along with your most stylish and cool but no-longer-you clothes, for the win-win-win-win of purging your closet, refreshing your wardrobe, having the fun at a clothing swap, and helping out women in need! So, out with the old and in the with new: get your ticket today and come join us at Swap!

And now...the details! Please read on for important info.

SWAP FAQ
----------------

What do I need to do BEFORE Swap?
---------------------------------------------------
-Register for Swap!
-We are asking for a $15 donation to cover room rental and other costs; anything over and above those costs will be donated to Mary's Place, a local non-profit that supports underserved women and children.
-Clean out your closet! (See what items we accept, below)
-Prep your items for Swap (See what to hang, what to fold, etc, below)
-Find a carpool buddy!

What items are ACCEPTED?
---------------------------------------
-Items in great condition (no holes, tears, stains, rips, pitting, pilling, or stinkiness!), from any season

-Tops (shirts, blouses, tees, tanks)
-Sweaters (pullovers, cardigans)
-Sweatshirts
-Coats/Jackets
-Pants/jeans
-Shorts
-Leggings
-Workout wear
-Pajamas
-Belts
-Purses
-Hats
-Dresses/skirts
-Suits (pants or skirts)
-Scarves
-Jewelry

What items are NOT accepted?
------------------------------------------
-Items with holes, tears, stains, rips, pitting, pilling, or stinkiness!
-Undergarments (underwear, bras, slips, negligees)
-Socks

How do I PREPARE my items to Swap?
---------------------------------------------------
Please HANG the following items:
-Tops/sweaters/sweatshirts
-Coats/Jackets
-Dresses
-Skirts (on skirt/pant hangers)

Hang these items so that when you are looking at them from the front, the hanger forms a question mark. Please have these items hung before you come to Swap.

Please bring the following items FOLDED to be displayed on tables:

-Pants
-Leggings
-Workout Wear
-PJs
-Scarves

The following will also be displayed on tables:
-Hats
-Purses
-Belts

For JEWELRY:
-Secure earrings on small pieces of cardboard with holes OR put them in small plastic ziploc bags (snack size or smaller) - one pair per bag
-Bring bracelets to display on tables
-Bring necklaces in a way that they will not tangle -putting them in separate bags can be helpful. There will be racks for hanging necklaces.
-Bring antique brooches in velvet display cases. Kidding! If you have any brooches or pins, just bring them as-is.

What is the DAY-OF PROCESS for Swap?
-------------------------------------------------------

PARKING
-We will try to reserve spots on Dayton Ave N, right outside the entrance to the brick building (east side of building) for ease of unloading your stuff.
-We will have volunteers on hand to help bring your items in, as needed.
-Once you have finished unloading your items, please move your car to another spot in the neighborhood or in one of the Phinney Center parking lots to open up the Dayton spots for other Swappers.
-We encourage carpooling!

ONCE IN THE BUILDING....
1) Check in at the check-in table
2) Start setting up your items on the racks and tables provided (don't worry - there will be signage so you know what goes where!)  We'll do this in shifts so that ~15 people at a time are setting up. There will be volunteers on hand to help out with this.
3) Enjoy some beverages and snacks while you wait for Swap to start!

AFTER SWAP
-If you are able, stay after and help with clean up!
-If there are items that you brought and would like to take home with you, you may collect these at the end of Swap. You must wait until Swap is officially over to do this.
-Once Swap has wrapped up, we will donate all leftover items to Mary's Place as well as to clothing closets at local high schools.

SCHEDULE:
10:30 - 11:30 Check-in,  Set up
11:30 - 2:00 Swap! Shop to your heart's content
2:00 Swap ends. Help with cleanup if you're able!

Can you give me some HOT TIPS on how to make Swap fun & easy?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Why, yes we can!

-Not a fan of hanging out in your skivvies? Consider wearing a tank top and leggings to make trying on clothes a breeze.

-Think about bringing a basket or large bag (blue IKEA bags work great) to haul your loot around as you shop.

-During the Swap, please put any unwanted items back neatly for others to peruse.

-Lastly, the more you give, the more you receive: no one likes a Swap hog! :P

Want a handy dandy PRINTABLE VERSION of the Swap FAQ?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Want all this Swap info in a format that is not 7 point font and hurting your eyeballs (Thanks, Brown Paper Tickets!)? And that you can print?

Here you go! Use this link (which is not really a link...thanks once again, BPT!) You'll have to use the old copy & paste method):
